Encouraging children to love books from an early age

Many youngsters are criticised for not reading enough, but at the Kiddi Caru Day Nursery based at The Willows in Torquay, they encourage it every day.

Thanks to the Torbay Mobile Library Service the children aged between one and five collect a book of their choice every week. The mobile library carries over 2,000 books for readers of all ages as well as talking books, CDs, and videos. Nursery Manager, Cath Hurn comments: ‘we believe the service that the Torbay Mobile Library provides has a positive impact on the children as it encourages them to enjoy books from an early age.”
